Spice up is not pregnant. The huge baby bump featured in a single photo she shared earlier this week was fake. During an Instagram Live on Friday (March 17), the dancehall singer explained the meaning of the maternity-like image and detailed her extensive near-death experience with sepsis.
“Great for Father God, great for Jesus. He literally saved my life and I celebrate that. That’s all. It was never intentionally taken for the image to offend anyone and if it did offend anyone then I apologize and I’m sorry if it offended you.”

Spice added that the post is not about women struggling with fertility issues. Instead, she expressed her sympathy for people who went through these experiences, including her friends and family. Still, the star insisted on the photo, which she captioned “God was so good to me” symbolized rebirth.
“It was just about celebrating my new life. Giving glory to God, thanking God for this new life, for this new journey. Second rebirth, I’m a brand new human. I feel rejuvenated,” she added.
Spice describes near-death experience with sepsis after breast implant surgery
In early November, Spice, who was on a social media hiatus, returned to Instagram to debunk rumors surrounding her health. At the time several blogs, including Suregon made curves, claimed the star suffered medical complications from a cosmetic procedure.
In her post, she denied having had a heart attack, being dead, or being in a coma. Days earlier, The Shade Room had already reported on the Spice agent refused the coma Expectations. At the time, though, Spice only revealed she was recovering from a “medical scare” — no details.
Finally Spice on Friday spilled all the details about the blow her health has taken in recent months. During a live-streaming session that lasted over an hour, the singer said she “literally died” after a severe case of sepsis.
The singer confirmed she was in the Dominican Republic when her health started failing — a claim Surgeon Made Curves made in her early posts about Spice’s health.
Spice announced that she was in DR to have her breast implants changed, which was successfully done. There she consulted doctors about fibrosis in her stomach, but was told it would go away.
She stayed in the country after the operation but experienced extreme vomiting. When she went to see doctors, the doctors told her that she had a hernia and her intestines had traveled through the space the hernia had created and ruptured them. This caused her body to go into septic shock.
“The sepsis literally started… eating my skin. I don’t know how to explain it to you, but my skin started to deteriorate. It started attacking my lungs and I didn’t even know sepsis was that dangerous.”
She was hospitalized in the Dominican Republic from October to December and underwent multiple surgeries. When she returned to the United States, she underwent another operation, still aimed at sepsis. In the end, the singer thanked God for being her protector during the medical scare.
“Just remember to get God involved because today is not about me. Just take me out of the equation. Pull me all you want, hit me all you want. Say all the bad things you want about me, I’m okay, I’m fine with that, because I always tell people I don’t care what people think of me, as long as my heart is with God, fine with me.
Spice said today she just wants to be the testimony that there is a God.
Following her statement, she also released a music video and song about her experience.
