Peterborough shot an early warning to their play-off rivals with an impressive 3-0 win over Lincoln in the early start of League One.
Darren Ferguson’s Posh cut the gap to sixth to just four points before afternoon games when they inflicted the Imps’ first home league defeat of the season.
Goals from Jonson Clarke-Harris, Jack Taylor and Joe Ward did damage at Sincil Bank as the visitors posted back-to-back away victories.
The hosts were the first to show up when Matty Virtue’s shot entered the side netting.
Jamaica striker Clarke-Harris opened the scoring with his 24th goal of the season when he struck unmarked after Harrison Burrows deflected Nathanael Ogbeta’s cross from the left in the 28th minute.
After the break, Daniel Mandroiu was about to equalize but his free-kick hit the wall and the post.
It was nearly 2-0 just before the hour mark when Ward’s half-volley from the edge of the box hit the inside of a post.
But Taylor made no mistake with 23 minutes remaining when her deflected effort hit the back of the net.
And Ward added a third seven minutes from time when he netted his second goal in as many games.
