Kelis gets candid when it comes to speaking out about the health, well being and death of her husband Mike Mora. The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Tuesday, which also marked the one-year anniversary of Mora’s death, to share a video message with fans.

Kelis opens the one-year anniversary of her husband’s death
Kelis took to Instagram on Tuesday night to share a video message with fans reflecting on the year since the death of her husband Mike Mora. As well as the many things she wants to learn about health and nutrition.
The 43-year-old explained that her wellness journey began many years ago when she became a mother for the first time. However, her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in 2021. This prompted her to research more about the different ways her family could improve their habits.
Kelis explained that she and her husband learned about ozone therapy, a practice in which ozone gas is injected into the body to treat wounds and illnesses, as reported by health line. However, his tumor returned and spread throughout his body.
Kelis emphasized the importance of staying stress-free
The mother-of-three explained that finding the best practices to stay healthy can be confusing, but stressed the importance of staying stress-free. She went on to explain that she moved to a farm to disconnect herself and her family from the “stupid things” that can cause anxiety.
Additionally, Kelis closed the video by explaining to her followers that their health is something they can “take control” of.
The 34-year-old also shared the video with a caption, delving further into her reflections.
It’s been exactly a year…that’s crazy about me. I’m generally a very private person, especially when it comes to family. But there is no denying the impact and development my husband’s death had on my life. I get asked all the time how I started this journey. It’s a much longer conversation, but in short, what we’ve covered here has pushed me so deeply into understanding our bodies and how our minds and emotions are so intertwined that you can’t cover one without the other. Our thoughts and intentions are as powerful and crucial as our skin health and fitness. I want to live well and that’s what I’m sharing, which I know is true.
Kelis’ husband Mike Mora died at the age of 34
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Mike Mora passed away on March 14, 2022 at the age of 34. Kelis’ management team confirmed the news in a statement shared exclusively with entertainment tonight.
“Unfortunately, it is true that Mike Mora passed away. We ask everyone to respect the privacy of Kelis and her family from now on. Thank you very much.”
As previously reported by The Shade Room, Mora opened up about his stage 4 stomach cancer diagnosis in October 2021.
He also shared that his doctor had diagnosed him 18 months to live.
Mora and Kelis shared a daughter named Galilee and a son named Shepherd. Kelis also shares a son, Knight, with rapper and ex-husband Nas.
