Johnny Depp is reportedly looking to break the record for the most lucrative men’s perfume deal of all time. According to Variety, the actor signed a three-year, $20 million deal with Dior. The publication claimed it was the most lucrative men’s perfume contract deal to date.
Variety reported Friday that Depp’s deal trumped two high-profile celebrity perfume partnerships: Robert Pattinson’s $12 million deal with Dior Homme and Brad Pitt’s $7 million deal with Chanel No. 5. The average fragrance deal on the A-list is usually between $2 million and $4 million. according to publication.
Depp and Dior have a long history of working together. Since 2015 the Pirates of the Caribbean The actor acted as the face of his brand’s Dior Sauvage fragrance. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The new contract is an extension of the Dior Sauvage partnership.
The landmark deal with Dior comes nearly a year after he and ex-wife Amber Heard were embroiled in a headline-grabbing defamation lawsuit. A jury found Heard liable for defamation in connection with a Washington Post op-ed she wrote about domestic violence, in which Depp was not named.
