Addiction-focused behavioral health provider Praesum Healthcare announced a partnership with ObservSMART to use its wearable device and personal tablet to conduct patient screening of non-compliant patient populations.
ObservSMART offers patented, tamper-proof wearables that help providers conduct patient screening and document patient location and behavior. Providers can conduct contact-based patient checks with synced tablets, and the company’s app sends notifications to providers to remind them to check on patients and notifies supervisors when a patient check is missed.
Praesum Healthcare has implemented ObservSMART technology at its facilities in New Jersey, New York, Florida, Massachusetts and Georgia to support patient monitoring.

A study published in JAMA network found that continuous remote monitoring of patients in general practice settings improved outcomes and reduced the burden on providers of vital sign assessments.
Other companies offering remote patient monitoring solutions include the Israel-based company Neteera, which offers contactless remote patient monitoring, and Singapore-based health technology company SmartFuture, which provides a software development kit for remote patient monitoring that allows for the integration of white-label RPM functionality into existing apps and web portals.
