Google Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a Price Tipped Ahead of Launch, Could Cost Less Than Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4

Google Pixel Fold, the tech giant’s rumored foldable smartphone, is set to become official in May during the company’s I/O 2023 event. The foldable flagship could be launched alongside the Pixel 7a. Ahead of the official announcement, a tipster released the pricing details of both the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a. The Pixel Fold is expected to cost less than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Pixel 7a could go on sale in global markets early in Q3, while the Pixel Fold is expected to be available in select regions.

Popular tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) has leaked Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a pricing on Twitter. According to the leak, the upcoming foldable phone will cost between $1,300 and $1,500 (roughly Rs. 1,07,400 to Rs. 123,935). This is less than last year’s Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4’s starting price of $1,799.99 (roughly Rs. 1,42,700). In contrast, the Pixel 7a is said to be priced around $450-$500 (roughly Rs.32,000-40,000).

Both the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a are expected to be unveiled during Google’s I/O 2023 on May 13. The Pixel 7a is slated to be available in global markets by Q3, while the Pixel Fold could launch in a few select regions. However, there is no official word from Google on this.

The Google Pixel Fold and Pixel 7a have been in the rumor mill for quite some time. A recent leak suggested the foldable handset will come in Carbon and Porcelain color options and could pack 256GB of internal storage. The Google Pixel 7a could be available in Arctic Blue, Carbon, Cotton and Jade color variants and is said to have 128GB of onboard storage.

The previous Geekbench listing suggested 12GB RAM and Android 13 on the Pixel Fold. It is said to be powered by a 2.85GHz octa-core chipset and is said to carry a triple rear camera unit. The Pixel 7a could have a Tensor G2 chipset under the hood. It could have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
