Google Chrome for Desktop Refreshes Browser Customisation Options With New Colours, Themes

Google has started rolling out new personalization features for its Chrome web browser on desktop. The browser, estimated to be used by over 2.65 billion people around the world, now allows community members to experiment with more themes and colors. To suggest customization options to users’ tastes, Chrome tracks previous choices and displays options accordingly. Currently, these new customization options are only available to Chrome desktop users.

The new Chrome browser side panel loads with multiple color gradients that can change the overall look and feel of the browser depending on the user’s preferences.

“You can test different colors, themes, and settings in real-time by opening a new tab in Chrome and clicking the Customize Chrome icon in the bottom-right corner. A new side window opens with the available customization functions. Here you can experiment with different features and easily see how they appear on your New Tab page as you make changes. “Our new side panel remembers your customization changes as you proceed,” the official said blog entry read by google.

Newer options have also been added to the existing range of wallpaper options for the Chrome browser.

In addition to “Landscape” and “Seascapes,” Chrome users have other categories available that are sorted by artist’s location and origin.

Native American Artists, LGBTQ Artists, Latino Artists Collection, and Black Artists Collection are among the new categories with wallpaper options for Chrome users.

Images clicked or inspired by additional artists and communities are also in the pipeline and will be included in Chrome’s customization settings in the coming days.

Google gave a glimpse of what Chrome users should be aware of on Twitter in the official announcement.

“If you’re having trouble choosing just one image, you can enjoy a rotating background by clicking any theme collection and turning on the “Update Daily” toggle. Or, if you’re using profiles to separate your work and personal accounts, try giving each profile its own background and color to differentiate them,” the blog continues.

The search engine giant has updated its Chrome browser with newer features to offer a more personalized experience to its users around the world.

For example, in March of this year, Google updated Chrome for Android users with a new New Tab page feature that allows users to quickly navigate to previous searches.

Google is also reportedly working on giving Android users the option to clear their browsing history for the past 15 minutes.

In addition, Google Chrome is also working on introducing a mouse input shortcut that will allow users to close tabs with a double click.
