Two films are dominating the zeitgeist at the moment: The little mermaid And Barbie. The former comes out on May 26th, while the latter comes out on July 21st (so long!).
Both films are based on popular IPs that have stood the test of time for decades. What if I told you that for so many, there’s an unexpected connection between two of childhood’s greatest traits?
Okay, so let’s start with that The little mermaid. The film, based on a fairy tale, rose to prominence as a 1989 Disney animated film. But that’s not what really matters at the moment.
What does is the voice of Ariel in the film.
This is Jodi Benson. She voiced Ariel in the film as well as the 2000 sequel, the 2008 prequel and a ’90s TV show. Oh and Ralph breaks the internet, to.
Alright, now to Barbie. Barbie is…Barbie! There is no other way to express it. Toy manufacturer Mattel’s doll was introduced to the world in 1959 and has never left.
Barbie is also a character in the toy story Franchise. She appears in all three sequels, but not in the first film. Since Barbie is a cartoon character in the movie, that means she’s voiced by an actor.
Do you see where this is going?
The actor who voices Barbie in the film toy story Movies is…Jodi Benson!
Be honest, did you already know that? Because I just found out that Jodi voiced both characters, and honestly, it was a delightful surprise.
If you need more reasons to love Jodi, I hope this was the right reason.
Oh, and she’s in too enchanted, to. A symbol!
